Supporting your PE department

Performance Sports are passionate in continuing the participation and engagement of primary school pupils as they progress through to secondary level.

Performance Sports can actively assist and support your PE Department to maintain and develop high standards of school sport. We offer expertise in traditional school sports including cricket, rugby, football, hockey, tennis and athletics.

Following the success of our PROP programme in partnership with Henley Hawks we are looking to extend our positive work with secondary schools in the local area.  Providing links with secondary schools ensures a pathway beyond curriculum hours and encourages pupils into a lifelong involvement in a safe, healthy and fun sport.

Coaching and experience

Our specialist coaches have playing, coaching and experience in a range of traditional sports; and provide expert knowledge on key areas including technical, tactical awareness, sports psychology, nutrition and personal training.

Bridging the gap between schools and community clubs

In addition we work in partnership with National Governing Bodies and secondary schools to bridge the gap between schools and community clubs and help reduce the drop off rate in teenagers. A recent project includes a partnership with Get Berkshire Active, Kidmore End Cricket Club and Highdown Secondary School to deliver a community girls cricket programme for 11 -16 year olds girls. Over 16 girls took part with 4 joining the club.

In partnership with Henley Cricket Club and a private sponsor we have helped delivered specialist cricket coaching in secondary schools in the Henley area; which culminated in an organised cricket tournament. Over five secondary schools took part, for some students it was their first ever competitive cricket experience.

We are keen to help young people with raising awareness of employability skills and career opportunities. Through Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership we provide regular work experience placements.
